the review - british plus-size fashion weekend 2014.

As you saw on a previous post, I was invited along to the media day of the BPSFW. This particular event went down on Friday 14th February, along with so many other events...so it was definitely a successful day.

I had the chance to speak to designers and models and get an insight to new and current plus-size fashion and I learned SO much. It was amazing to be in a room full of people where being plus-size was being embraced and celebrated.

crossEyes london event.

February 14th...Valentine's day, the beginning of London Fashion Week, media day at British Plus-Size Fashion Weekend and the CrossEyes London blogger's event...I was a busy girl.

As a fellow four-eyes, being invited to a blogger's event for a glasses brand was like being at home away from home. I was surrounded by designer frames of all different shapes, sizes, materials and styles...and all at my disposal to try on.

CrossEyes is a Danish chain of opticians that specialize in creating a personal atmosphere and experience for each and every customer. All of the frames are placed very openly in the store, allowing you the freedom to try on every frame and find what you need to suit your taste and style. You then get a free eye test and then get your glasses made for you, all with a very personable service.

I like my glasses to reflect my personality as well as my facial features so I am always looking for big, fun and quirky looking frames. 

 I think I must have tried on every single pair of glasses that they had in that store, but I must say my favourite were probably this style; fun and quirky, yet, sophisticated.

british plus-size fashion weekend 2014.

I've been lucky enough to be invited to the British Plus Size Fashion Weekend for the second year running, and as I want to see all of you there, including my curvy sisters, I thought I'd share some info and links to the event so you can get your tickets.

I love anything that celebrates women of all shapes and sizes, and as a lover of fashion, it is so positive to see so much light shining on plus-size fashion. There will be four exclusive fashion shows, including one for lingerie and swimwear which I am super excited about! You will also get the chance to shop at the event with an exclusive discount, and there will be professionals on hand to give you advice about your shape and how to shop for your figure.

It will be held on the 14th and 15th February at the London Vinopolis.

summer jewellery - tresor paris.

June overall was an amazing month for me, and part of this included me organising and attending the bloggers event for the Tresor Paris summer launch.

In organising the invitations for the event I got to speak to an insane amount of some of my favourite bloggers and youtubers, learning more about them as I went along. As well as this, I learned what it was like working behind the scenes and planning an event a lot like others that I am often invited to. I learnt so much about the brand; who they are, the kind of jewellery they create and who they were making their jewellery for, and I was positive a lot of bloggers like myself would appreciate the event.

Although I was stuck in the office for most of the day and missed the chance to meet a lot of the bloggers that I had invited to the event, I did have a chance to go and get a little sneek peak of all of the new summer lines by Tresor.

It was such an amazing experience and I am so glad I got to be involved in more ways than one.

Tresor Paris is probably most known for their famous beaded bracelets that hit the scenes by storm not too long ago and became a phenomenon amongst celebrities and others alike. The brand is one from Hasbani, jewellery manufacturers best known for its diamonds, and it was created as an aid to separate diamonds and luxury jewellery, developing affordable luxury. These bracelets come in a wide variety of different colours, allowing you to choose your favourite colour or have a mix of them all. Using crystals to give them a true shine, Tresor Paris quickly became a brand so recognisable and appreciated by many.

Not too long ago, I was invited to attend a press day by Tresor Paris to preview their ISL watch collection, a first by the brand. I was filled with excitement to go, mostly because I love the look of their jewellery and I wanted to know how they would translate that excellence into timepieces.

 

It was no surprise that the first thing I saw was an array of hues. Coming in 13 different colours, these watches are definitely one that catches the eye, and not just with the colours, but the diamond in each watch face. Every watch is unique on its own, but Tresor Paris allows you to make your piece your own to suit your every style and every mood. Available in two different sizes, with interchangeable straps and bezels, every combination is exclusive.

 

ISL watches - £99 each

Depending on what you can afford or what you desire, you can opt for plain and simple bezels, ones covered in crystal, or for ultimate opulence, diamonds. They range from £30 to £3000, so it really is your choice.

These are the kind of watches that can be worn by many different types of people. Young people can adapt to it because of the colour range that is available, and older people can indulge on a stylish watch that can be made their own. Watches are an accessory, so there is no reason to limit what looks you can create with just one item.

iCandy networking event.

To represent the fashion editor of Flavour magazine, I was invited along to a networking event being held at iCandy studios earlier this week in South London.

At this event I got to liaise with a whole load of media professionals. This included photographers, models, makeup artists, hair stylists...all different types of creatives. I was dropped in the midst of all these professionals, and being someone who would someday like to become one of them and work with them, I wanted to gain some knowledge.

I got an insight on what it is like to work with different publications, what models are like on sets, what a creative director really does, and just generally how the minds of these people worked. It is a very competitive industry to be in, and who you know as well as what you can bring to the table is very important. I spoke to a lot of people and shared with them what I have learnt from being on the edge of the industry looking for a way to get in.

Being a writer and an aspiring journalist, I found myself as one of a kind at this event, no-one there like myself. I shared what I knew, described my vision, and gave people advice on blogging. This was weird to me as I am the one normally looking for advice on how to or whether to do something. Blogging is something that I would like to use an aid to support what I wish to do with my life, and it was a nice and positive experience to share this with others.

As this was my first time attending any event of its kind, I found this to be an excellent experience and I look forward to attending many, many more.
