quick nail post #7.

It's been a while since I've done a nail post. I don't think the colours or combinations I've been using have been interesting enough.
Anyway, I snapped up this purple colour when ASOS were doing 25% off...and next to the green it looks amazing!

Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine - Watermelon / Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine - Prickly Pear

I love the pigmentation in the Gelly polishes, and the fact I don't need a top coat either is awesome.

happy Easter, jayj x.

amsterdam, the netherlands.

A little while back I took an awesome trip with an awesome friend to Amsterdam. It was just after my birthday, so it was good to get away, not think about uni or work, and just have some fun.
It was a bit of a fail as I didn't take many pictures (don't shoot me!), but i thought some of you would like to see what the city is like and the general atmosphere.

It's definitely somewhere that everyone has to visit. It's a very unique...and different experience.

Enjoy. (FYI: I kept it clean)

Have you ever been to Amsterdam? How was your experience?

a fashion TAG.

I don't believe I've ever done a fashion tag before. Well I just watched one on youtube and totally got inspired. Enjoy.

How would you describe your style?
My style is...frikkin weird! I'm kind of a hipster but with a twist, because I also like to stay on trend with what I wear. I also dress like I don't give a damn, but I am mostly quite put together. Okay...shall we say a trendy hipster? Yeah, I'll go with that. Next question!

What are your wardrobe staples?
Thick, black leggings. Almost anything looks good with thick black leggings. Also, a baggy knitted jumper and an oversized, off-the-shoulder black top...bam!

What is your most expensive item of clothing anything?
Can this be an accessory? I'm making this an accessory. I would have to say it is a Gucci bag that was given to me by my mother.

What is your most wanted item of clothing?
A bomb ass 'Obey' jumper and a 'Comme des fuckdown' beanie. My hipster-resisting self will not allow me to jump on making these purchases.

 What is your favourite designer?
This changes all the time with me, especially as new collections are showcased. An all time favourite though has to be Alexander McQueen. It's always so dramatic and OTT but the clothes stay so chic...love it, amazing.

How much do you spend on clothes?
A ton! I've been very good recently though...no secret online shopping orders or random buys during my lunch break. Let's see how long it lasts.

Where are your favourite places to shop?
Anyone who knows me will know that most items of clothing in my wardrobe come from Dorothy Perkins. Primark is my go-to store for basic essentials, and Zara is becoming my new favourite place for awesome accessories. Mostly bags...I love bags.

Go-to outfit when you have nothing to wear?
Baggy jumper, leggings, leather jacket and Converses. All black everything.

Favourite fashion magazines?
It appears I collect Elle. But seriously, I love the way that Elle is laid out and the writing is amazing (nerd moment). I also buy the occasional Vogue USA if it is a special edition or if someone awesome is on the cover.

Short and sweet.
No-one really tags people on blogs do they? Anyway, if you're cool enough and haven't already, do the tag. Comment below with your link so I can see your answers. I think that's why I like tags...I'm nosey.

tagged. fashionably, jayj x.

an empty review - steamcream.

A beauty post...finally! Apologies, it's been a while.

I know I am probably a bit late to jump on the Steamcream bandwagon, but since I bought it and started using it, I am in complete and utter love. I first heard about Steamcream…maybe a year ago now, and I was intrigued to try it as moisturisers are one of my favourite things to experiment with. You may have seen when I bought it as I featured it in a haul, and since then, I cracked it open and started using it as my daily morning moisturiser.

First off, for the size of the tin, I think it lasts a pretty long time. The secret is; a little goes a long way. It doesn’t have the thickest consistency and therefore you do not need a lot to cover the whole of your face and your neck. Also because of the consistency, it does not feel like you have a lot of product on your face, so when it comes to applying makeup it doesn’t really feel like an additional ‘layer’.

I’m not entirely sure of the science of how it is made and everything but I will include information from their website, and you can also do more research for yourself.

"It’s STEAMCREAM’s unique STEAM process that makes our cream much more effective on the skin. The force of the STEAM fuses the ingredients instantly - holding them together in a very gentle and loose emulsion. When it touches your skin, the naturally moisturising ingredients and pure, calming essential oils are released..."

...and so on and so forth.

I only ever use it in the morning as I have a different moisturiser for the night time, but it most definitely serves its purpose as a daytime moisturiser.

Have you ever tried Steamcream? What are your thoughts on it?

I have steam on my face! jayj x.
