It is now the beginning of the second week of the month, which means that most beauty boxes will start dispatching their new boxes for this month in the next couple of days. The perfect time to decide whether or not you're going to subscribe to this month's box. I know that there are countless reviews out there for monthly boxes, but with this being the first of its kind that I have tried, I thought I'd put my two cents in for my readers.
Birchbox only just launched in the UK at the beginning of this year, and after saying goodbye to the She Said Beauty boxes, it is good for us beauty junkies to have another brand of beauty box to choose from. I had a little break from beauty boxes all together as they were not really doing any justice for me at the time. First off, the boxes were not too impressive, and secondly, I literally have an overflowing amount of samples that I am yet to use and I think that I should get through those first!
Like many people, I was a bit hesitant to fork out money for a box that I was unsure of, so I waited to see the range of products that were in the March box before I quickly jumped in before the deadline and ordered mine.
la sultane de saba body lotion / molton brown valbonne perfume / sanctuary mask / yu-be skin cream / laura geller purple gel liner / lindt lindor / nick chavez thickening mist
I have to say, compared to what others received in their box, I was a bit disappointed. The ranges of products were good, some high end brands in the mix, and chocolate. (I think chocolate wins everyone over!) The downfall for me was the size of some of the products and the lack of variety or excitement of the products. I know they are meant to be samples, but sachets are my least favourite thing to receive, mainly because they are a pain in the backside to maintain if you want to use the product more than once.
I am going to give Birchbox another chance though. Their packaging is very convenient and compact, and the magazine you receive is a good read and something a little extra for the money that you pay.
I think Glossybox is calling my name again too. What do you think? Should I jump back on it?
Are you a fan of the Birchbox? As the most popular beauty boxes of the moment, which do you prefer, Glossybox or Birchbox?
